The NYU Newman Club

The Newman Club is the official Catholic undergraduate club of NYU. The club is funded by the university and run by NYU club officials. The president and secretary are elected by the Catholic students, while other officers are appointed by the president and secretary.

The Newman Club meets on Thursday evenings at 7pm at the Catholic Center. The meeting consists of dinner, a short talk by a chaplain or visiting speaker, and time for questions and discussion. The purpose of the evening is to grow in the Catholic faith and meet other Catholic students. Once a month, the club sponsors a special event during the regular meeting time.

The Newman Club partners with outside organizations to sponsor events for students. These events typically focus on the arts or business.

Members of the Newman Club are invited to participate in programs offered by the FOCUS missionaries, such as bible studies and mission trips.

Newman Club meetings are open to Catholic undergrad students from other Catholic clubs in New York City. However, these students cannot serve as officers of the club.
