This is a community of university students made children of God, seeking to live in the fullness of Christ’s friendship and draw others into that friendship.
Our Goal: Friendship in Christ
The Catholic Center exists to form young men and women into mature Christians, friends of Jesus Christ and true friends to others.
Our Identity and Mission
The Catholic Center is a community of university students who have been made children of God in Baptism. Our fellowship and our life flows from and toward Jesus in the Eucharist, who heals us in the sacrament of Penance and strengthens us by Confirmation.
The Catholic Center has its home at New York University, but this community is made up of students from schools throughout New York City, supported and directed by Catholic Center staff, especially the FOCUS missionaries and Dominican chaplains.
We live out our life as Catholics through celebration of the sacraments, fellowship that builds up the community, dedicated study of the Scriptures and the teaching of the Church, and formation in Christian life and prayer.
Through outreach and service, we aim to draw all university students into the friendship of Jesus Christ and to make his friendship known through our own leadership, friendship, and works of mercy.
