NYU Newman Club

Join one of the oldest clubs at New York University.

The NYU Newman Club

Whether you prefer Broadway or Venture Capital, the Newman Club offers opportunities for you. The Newman Club connects students with Catholic public figures, entrepreneurs, and creatives to get practical advice for their career fields and learn how to pursue their goals with the Catholic faith. As an official NYU club, the Newman Club also offers leadership opportunities that stand out in interviews and mentorship opportunities with professionals in your field.

The Newman Club at New York University supports students who desire to live their Catholic faith while pursuing their education and career goals at the same time. There’s no need to forget your faith for your career. Whether you are pursuing business at Stern, acting at Tisch, or engineering at Tandon, the Newman Club is your way of keeping Jesus Christ in focus while you pursue and achieve your professional goals. As St. John Henry Newman once said, “Knowledge is one thing, virtue is another.”

The Newman Club at New York University was founded in 1894, making it one of the oldest student clubs at NYU. The founding of the club was part of the greater Newman Movement, which began in the United States in 1883. The movement sought to support students in living their Catholic faith on secular university campuses, like New York University. The Newman Club at New York University continues to meet at the Catholic Center at NYU.
