Research and scholarly interests: orofacial tissue repair; biochemistry of hyaluronic acid; use of sodium
hyaluronate in treatment of temporomandibular disorders; professional ethics. Principal Investigator for
multiple RO1-NIH research grants and Principal Investigator/Project Director of the NIH-funded
UCLA/King-Drew Regional Research Center for Minority Oral Health.
